About

Built by an engineer who has done this work, from the floor up

Streamline Engineering was founded by Alfonso Flores, an automation, controls, and robotics engineer with direct hands-on experience on pharmaceutical drug-delivery device assembly lines operating under FDA quality systems. This is not a generalist consulting firm — the work is specific, technical, and grounded in production environments where failures have real consequences.

The focus is on smaller and mid-sized U.S. manufacturers in pharmaceutical and medical device production. These companies operate under the same quality and safety requirements as the largest corporations, and they deserve the same level of engineering support.

Services

Engineering support from initial assessment through commissioning

Each engagement starts with a clear technical scope and ends with a system the manufacturer can maintain. We take on discrete projects at any stage of implementation, or full end-to-end builds.

Readiness Assessment
We review your production process, existing equipment, inspection points, and quality risks — and define a practical technical scope before any implementation begins.
Machine-Vision Inspection
We develop and implement vision inspection systems for presence, color, orientation, and defect detection using Keyence and Cognex platforms. Every system is built and tested against real sample sets.
Robotics Integration
Pick-and-place, assembly assist, bin picking, and line-tending applications using Universal Robots, FANUC CRX, and KUKA LBR platforms. We program, commission, and qualify the integration in your environment.
Controls and PLC/HMI Programming
Control sequences, sensor communication, alarm and interlock logic, defined fault-recovery procedures, and human-machine interface development for automated production lines.
Qualification Support
Factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, and IQ/OQ support including challenge testing, test case development, and requirements traceability — appropriate to the scope and risk of each system.
Training and Lifecycle Support
Operating procedures, maintenance guides, backup and restoration documentation, and hands-on training for operators and engineers — so the system stays reliable and the knowledge stays in-house.

Machine Vision

Inspection that goes beyond what the eye can catch

We have developed and deployed vision inspection systems in pharmaceutical manufacturing environments — studying product variants, building and training inspection models, and running full acceptance testing against defined pass and fail criteria.

From single-camera presence checks to multi-station color and orientation inspection using deep-learning classifiers, we scope each system to your product, your line, and your quality requirements.

Where We Work

Based in Schaumburg, Illinois. Available across the U.S.

Engineering coordination, programming, and documentation are handled from our Illinois base. Commissioning, qualification support, and on-site training travel to where your facility is.

The Midwest is our home market — Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Ohio have a high concentration of domestic pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers. We are available for engagements beyond that region as each project warrants.
